About Artists on the Bluff

Artists have always been attracted to the Village of Lake Bluff, beginning in 1875 when it was a summer resort. Today the tradition continues with Artists on the Bluff, a charitable organization dedicated to promoting the arts and encouraging artists. Every June we host the Lake Bluff Arts Festival on the Village Green featuring local and area artists and musicians. Hands-on activities are always provided for children and all of our shows include a free sketch or gesture drawing activity to encourage anyone to step up to one of our many easels and sketch a live model just for fun.

We have a 1,000-square-foot permanent gallery located inside The Gallery at
202 E. Wisconsin Ave., Lake Forest, IL 60045.

Artists on the Bluff is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization of local artists dedicated to promoting the arts and encouraging artists. We educate and contribute to charitable causes through the arts, including the Equestrian Connection. Members of Artists on the Bluff also teach art at the Lake Bluff Park District. The group has staged a fundraising show for the Lake Bluff Library, and artists in the group have also created murals and backdrops for local school drama and musical productions.

The murals in Lake Bluff’s historic landmark Train Station were also created by two of our members, Skip Wiese and Sandra Bacon, both nationally recognized professional muralists.
